For Sally Uhlmann, food has always played a central role. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and began growing food and cooking at a very young age. Sally’s cooking has always been punctuated with an equal measure of passion and accessibility. Her life is filled with the pleasures of food, entertaining, travel, community, family, and friends. Sally has enjoyed several successful careers and pastimes, including serving as the food and entertaining editor for Kansas City Magazine and Home Design Magazine. In 2020, she published her award-winning cookbook, Just Cook with Sally, and she continues to write stories—mostly about the intersection of food and travel. As always, she keeps busy in the kitchen, entertaining friends and developing recipes for her next book, her blog, Cortona International, and the Molesini Wine Club.

Sally’s cookbook, Just Cook with Sally, was recognized with a silver award from the Independent Book Publishers Association in the best 2020 cookbook category.
